Health Systems Research India Initiative (HSRII) aims to network and engage public health professionals in the process of building an effective public health system in India. The concept of this initiative is to collate and assimilate health knowledge to strengthen health system development by integrating partners, research alliances and the involvement of stakeholders such as health policy-decision makers, academicians, research institutions, community, media and implementation agencies.

Health Systems Research India Initiative is an alliance established as a not-for-profit organization under the aegis of OASIS, a National NGO. OASIS (Organization to Aid Socially Insecure Society) is a not-for-profit non- governmental organization aimed at improving the quality of life of people and reduction in poverty through sustainable development initiatives. 
HSRII launched its operations in February 2010 through HSRII-Knowledge Sharing Platformaimed at providing resource support to various health sector reforms initiatives. This e-group was initiated with the primary objective of disseminating public health information, research, implementation issues and to stimulate vibrant discussions on topics of importance. Presentlywe are privileged to have around 900 public health professionals within and outside India frompublic health institutions, international and national technical support agencies, state and centralgovernment, policy makers and public health researchers and students.
 
Areas of Work 
Health Systems Research and Support
Engaging in health systems research to provide inputs for informed decision making process isthe most important area of our work. Our research portfolio includes operations research, descriptive studies, evaluation studies (baseline, midterm, endline and impact assessment).
 
The research portfolio is equipped to undertake research studies starting from conceptualizing idea into research framework, research design, preparing review and develop instruments, datacollection, data analysis, report writing and dissemination of findings.
 
HSRII engages with state and central government, development partners, institutions of public health training, corporate social responsibility interventions, and other NGOs in India in undertaking the research activities. 
 
Knowledge Management for Health Systems Research
Evidence based research and policy making requires systematic documentation of studies,archiving key data sets, documentation of best practices and innovations across the world andwithin the country. HSRII has established a system of documentation of research studies/innovations/best practices, archiving health related data and reports and articles (published/ unpublished) in India.

Training, Capacity Development and Advocacy for Health Systems Research
Training and capacity development support to government and non-government agencies for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health programs forms the third core activity of HSRII. Enhancing the capacity of NGOs to undertake research/documentation of programme related activities and capacity for implementing innovations is one of our maintasks.
 
HSRII also has the capacity to conduct short courses on public health and health managementfor professionals in public sector, private sector, and academic institutions through modules developed by team of experts in the field. 
 
Project Management and Implementation Support
HSRII provides technical assistance and implementation support to government/non-governmentand corporate social responsibility initiatives (CSR) in health and health related services .Our team is capable of designing and implementing project implementation plans, implementmechanisms to systematically assess the achievement of results, analyze the project implementation data to identify progress and gaps and recommend corrective actions and follow up on recommendations.

Hospital Management and Quality Accreditation Support 
ISOS Consultancy Services Bangalore, Institutional Partner of HSRII provides hospitalmanagement advisory services to public and private health institutions in areas of hospital planning, operations management, quality certification and improving efficiency of existing healthcare facilities. The hospital management and quality accreditation team of ISOS comprises of a team of dynamic, dedicated and experienced healthcare professionals capable of providing technical assistance across various aspects of hospital design and operations Management.
The major areas of work under this thematic area are (a) Hospital Planning and Design (b) Systems Re-designing & Re-Engineering (c) Certification and Quality Assessment (d)Accreditation Assistance (NABH, NABL, JCI,ISO) (e) Hospital Information Systems (f) Procurement Systems and Supply Chain Management (g) Service Mix and Space Planning (h) Health Insurance Advisory(i) Training of Hospital Professionals 
 
Team HSRII
Team HSRII is a group of young multidisciplinary public health professionals working togethewith the guidance and support of experienced public health researchers /faculty in India.
The core team members are trained in Public Health, Epidemiology, Demography, Bio-Statistics,Health Economics, Econometrics, Hospital Manangement Social Sciences, EnvironmentaSciences, Social Work, Public Health Law and Information Technology from institutions in Indiand abroad.
We have a vast network of trusted field investigators and team leaders in almost all thestates, with years of experience in data collection-both quantitative and qualitative
