Why a Brinjal Festival?
With Bt-Brinjal on the verge of approval as the first GM food into Indian Food Chain, Genetically Modified (GM) food crops pose a grave threat to the diversity and to our health as consumers. There is also a threat to the traditional way of cultivation of brinjals so far in India. The Brinjal Festival is an attempt to bring a better consciousness and respect for our rich diverse food. We should make informed choices about food, one of our most fundamental rights.
What’s the plan for the day?
· Special subzis of Brinjal for you to savour.
· Cooking competition for innovative brinjal dishes [Interested participants are requested to register soon by sending a mail to iamnolabratdelhi@gmail.com OR by filling the form at the bottom].
· A quiz competition with Brinjal as the theme.
