Parichay : Embroidery classes and Rakhi stalls (July 2009)
Latest news at Parichay is introduction of embroidery classes for girls and ladies of the community. Few girls and ladies are being trained by one of Parichay Girl, Sajma who became functionally literate under Parichay’s non formal educational program and then learnt embroidery and was supported to do diploma in beauty culture. She is a very active community volunteer and has supported many of our activities for several years.
Soon embroidered sarees and suits will be added to Parichay’s product catalogue .
During the month kids were busy in designing and making rakhees for ongoing Rakshabandhan stalls. We have already put stalls at Mentor graphics, XL and STM. On 30th and 31st of July we will put up stalls at CSC, Noida (thanks to our well wishers/volunteers in these companies).

Hey
very nice.
Do you know of NIOS vocational courses. I have heard of them, but have never explored further or have known anyone who has done this course. I was wondering if you have been using NIOS for vocational education. Do share any information/experience.
