Teachers Ask. You Choose. Students Learn.

by diwakergupta on Sep 29, 2007      Category: Useful Resources Tags: education is a simple way to provide students in need with resources that our public schools often lack. At this not-for-profit web site, teachers submit project proposals for materials or experiences their students need to learn. These ideas become classroom reality when concerned individuals, whom we call Citizen Philanthropists, choose projects to fund.

Interesting idea, and quite similar in concept to I think the reason these websites manage to get funding from so many people is that they are giving a personal touch to each request.. the donor (or "lender" as in case of Kiva) gets to know specifically what impact their $100 is having on whom.. as opposed to funding large organizations, where your money goes into a large pool of funds with no way to track your contributions in particular..
