Fellowships Available for the Global Summit on Grassroots Women`s Leadership and Governance

The Huairou Commission Governance Campaign will host the Global Summit on Grassroots Women`s Leadership and Governance from March 7^th-8^th, 2011.  During the two days Summit, participants representing grassroots, non-governmental and women's movement organizations, local and national governments, academia, multi-lateral organizations, social entrepreneurs and the private sector, will convene to discuss grassroots women's leadership, participation in decision-making, and contributions to good governance. The participants will also discuss about impediments to women's influence in the public sphere and strategies women have employed to ensure that decision-making processes are reflective of their priorities.

In preparation for the Summit, we will hold the Grassroots Women Leaders Peer Workshops from March 3^rd to 5^th, in which grassroots women`s leaders from the HC network and those nominated by partners will consolidate grassroots women`s collective strategies in claiming rights to participate and lead in development processes at global level. 

The Huairou Commission has fellowships available to support 25 participants and we expect that other 25 participants be supported by their own organizations or by local, national and international partners.
