Background of the organization

AWADH SEWA SANSTHAN is a leading voluntary organization registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act 1860 and FCRA. It is also registered under section 12 A & 80 G of the Income Tax Act. The organization has its headquarters at 11/834, Indira Nagar, Lucknow, U.P. and activities spread in districts of not only Lucknow but also in Barabanki, Faizabad, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Varanasi, Shrawasti, Balrampur, Morabadbad, Sitapur, Chandauli, Shahjahanpur, Kanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Badhohi, Rampur, Raibareli & Kushi Nagar districts in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India. The organization has been working for the twenty (14) years for the welfare of poor and disadvantaged people of the community particularly rural sections of the society through various developmental programmes with the objectives to develop sustainable self-reliant community through their active participation in all our development efforts. Since its inception the organization has been undertaking several programmes for research studies, surveys, providing better education, vocational training, better health services, inculcating awareness among resource poor for their rights and duties, empowerment of women, promotion of income generating activities, imparting training for capacity building, and formation of self-help groups and support them for their self-reliance.

Programme areas of the organization
The organization is actively working in districts (Barabanki, Faizabad, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Varanasi, Shrawasti, Balrampur, Morabadbad, Sitapur, Chandauli, Shahjahanpur, Kanpur, Badhohi, Rampur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Raibareli & Kushi Nagar & Lucknow) of the State of Uttar Pradesh for the last 15 years. Organizational Structure and hierarchy
The AWADH SEWA SANSTHAN consists of 11 Board of members. President¸ Vice President, Secretary/Manager, Treasurer are the major posts of the organization. The board meets regularly on quarterly basis. The board members, besides playing advisory role the organization, are also involved with thematic area of the organization. The board members have expertise in different field of activities such as Research studies, Education, Health, Vocational training, Handicraft development, Agriculture development and various other Social development activities. Depending upon the situation as per need they provide their suggestion and support on related issues.
Systems in place for technical and financial management
Regular monthly meetings are conducted every month with the entire project/ office staff. All programmatic decisions are taken in the monthly meetings. These meetings are conducted in a participatory manner and collective decision-making is done in all organizational matters. Reporting relationship is also maintained both upwards and downwards with regular flow of information. The board also reviews the work of the organization and gives necessary directions based on feedbacks from field offices.

As far as financial management is concerned, AWADH SEWA SANSTHAN guided by transparency in operations, and accounts are maintained in systematic manner at all levels. Monthly financial statement is prepared to monitor the financial status of each project. All the accounts (Cash book and ledgers) are maintained on daily basis. For different projects, separate books of accounts are maintained and the same are audited by an external auditor.
Networking of the organization
The organization has developed strong networking with various voluntary organizations working in through out the country and has also established very good rapport with various Government and other departments/ agencies. It has got adequate technical and managerial strength to provide guidance and give technical assistance to these voluntary organizations.

The organization has a team of 31 staff members (Both full time and part time) who are qualified, competent, and experienced in the field of health and family welfare, Education & Vocational training, Women empowerment, Agriculture Development. Their long and broad experience has been found helpful in the successful implementation of the programmes. In addition, it has a team of qualified vocational instructors, MIS persons and highly experienced consultants, who can manage, direct and control any development programme with ease. A computerized MIS system has been designed and is in place. Further, a team comprising 15 volunteers of the organization fortifies the implementation of programmes. Exponential growth in the number of volunteers is encouraged and any shortage of the same is not allowed to impede the implementation of programmes in any way.

4. AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF ASSOCIATION:

The main features of the society is suitable development of Swasthya(Health) Sikshya (Education) Sadhana (Livelihood) Sanskruti (Culture) Sachetanata (Awareness) and Shasaktikarana (Empowerment) of the vulnerable sections of the society in general .
*. To make people physically mentally and spiritually fit citizens by Yoga teaching.

*. To create a society free from diseases i.e. health is wealth.

*. To implement family welfare programmes ,blood donation camps basically for the scheduled castes/Scheduled Tribe and distress people in rural areas.

*. To organize awareness programmes on health specially reproductive and child health HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Leprosy prevention in different village area of Orissa through Road show.

*. To establish and run health projects like mobile Health care, medical and paramedical training, blood and eye banks, alternative medicinal institutions, pharmaceutical institution, ambulance facilities, old age homes in different village area for SC/ST and other poor people who are benefited of the opportunities.

*. To take up programme on family planning in order to ensure a healthier environment for mother and children.

*. To impart health education and health services in rural tribal and under privileged section of the society especially matters relating to maternal and child health, nutrition, sanitation, personal hygiene etc.

*. To establish various health camps for supply medicines to the poorer and check up the serious diseases to them.

*. To implement education programmes for women, children and youth through correspondence course, adult education programmes, vocational training elementary child education and non-formal education etc, in different district of Orissa.

*. To provide Library and information services to the people in general and students in particular.

*. To establish and conduct educational institutions, library orphanage hostels and boarding schools for the under privilege boys and girls without profit.

*. To create mass consciousness about education and undertaking prorammes on pre-school and adult education etc, in the need based areas.

*. To presence and protest along with popularize the art and culture of Orissa.

*. To spread knowledge and generate awareness of the youth mass towards Flok dance, Odishi, Paika Nurtya etc.

*. To promote self help groups to empower women socially, economically strengthen through implementing income generating activities.

*. To provide training facilities along with implementation of scientific methods in agriculture, horticulture, sericulture and foresting etc.

*. To identify youth potential from each section of society and make them engage in nation building activities and self-reliant through self help guidance.

*. To establish of people’s organization, village committees and women associations and youth forums in view of enabling them to take active participation in the planning and all development programmes.

*. To motivate and involve the youths to identify and help to eradicate social evils like dowry, bonded labour, low wages, untouchables, alcoholism, illiteracy, etc.

*. To promote awareness campaign through the support of Govt. of India Ministry of Surface Transport, New Delhi and the Dep’t. Of State Govt. Transport.

*. To capacitate the community to fight against social injustice, exploitation, inequality and oppression any form and facilitate that their voices are heard they become the part of socio-economically sound & just society.

*. To empower women especially to SC, ST and other social-economically marginalized community for avail their rights and dignity in the society.

*. To promote & under take development activities the needy & weaker section society to provide relief & perform works to clarity for those in need.

*. To undertake various types of business to enrich the healthy economic condition of weaker section.

*. To engage in tale-shopping and home delivery of consumable items of the consumer i.e. weaker section and general public to consume daily without profit.
