A campaign with a double impact |
We are happy to bring to you a campaign that can help you make a double impact. An anonymous donor passionate about the cause of Muscular Dystrophy has decided to motivate others to donate towards the cause too.
Beginning February 21, till March 23, 2010, he will match every donation made to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation India on the GiveIndia site. Muscular Dystrophy Foundation India is an NGO working to provide as normal a life to people suffering from Muscular Dystrophy (MD) - a genetic disorder that weakens muscles to such an extent that a patients loses the ability to even walk and stand, making them extremely dependent on others.
Many patients at Muscular Dystrophy Foundation India come from poor families and lack the proper resources required for treatment.

MTV asks 'Which tree are you'? |
We had announced earlier that GiveIndia had been selected as the charity partner for Ecolution - an MTV campaign that aims to develop an eco-consciousness in people. The idea is simple - for every tree planted online, MTV plants one on the ground.
Till now more than 39,000 trees have been planted. With just a week left for the campaign to end, do spare a moment to plant a tree if you haven't already.

GiveIndia hosted the third workshop for members of its First Givers Club on February 11, 2011 in Mumbai. The theme of the workshop was: Trust/Foundation: Why, When & How?
The First Givers Club is an advanced step to support philanthropic endeavors of its members. This workshop engaged the members in a discussion about how they can set up trusts/foundations to accomplish their individual philanthropic goals.
It gave them a consultative and comprehensive platform to realise their objectives, involvement level and the kind of impact they want to see in the area of their choice.
