Hi Duncan, A lot of us here are interested in appropriate technology, If you could provide more details about your work (is there a website for your organization - DIT solutions?) or what kind of support/collaboration you are looking at, you might be able to get better responses from people. Thanks!

Subject: Request for Sponsorship of Media Center

Dear Mrs/ or Madam

I write on behalf of the Buea Chapter of the Cameroon Association of English-speaking journalists, CAMASEJ. Our organization is a non-profit making grouping of journalists in the country. Amongst our activities, we assist in providing opportunities to less previledge young people by offering them training opportunities in information and communication technology. In this light, we are exploring the posibilities of setting up our second ICT training centre in Buea, South West of Cameroon and we are sourcing for funds to assist us in setting up the center.

The center shall comprise of an ICT training center, a modern library, a press craft center and a computer research center.

So far, Books for Africa has donated to us a container containing some 22000 books and the shipment will soon be effected. Computer Aid International has also donated to us some 150 computers and 50 laptops for the project and we are expected to raise about the sum of FCFA 12.400.000 ie Twelve million four hundred thousand francs CFA, about 25.800 US dollars. ( Depending on the exchange rate)
Unfortunately, our association has been unable to raise the required funds for the finacing of the processing and shipment of the computers as result of budgetary contraints.

We shall be very grateful if your organization can assist us or source for funding for the project.

While waiting for your response, accept our best regards and high esteem for your organisation.

Yours sincerely
