Hippocampus Reading Foundation (HRF) established in 2004 is a social initiative of the Hippocampus Children’s Experience Centre. HRF’s vision is to inspire children from disadvantaged communities to read more. For more details, visit www.hrfindia.org
HRF reaches out to children by partnering with community based organizations (CBO), helps them establish their library, and providing them the GBR program to run their libraries effectively. HRF today works with more than 160 government schools catering to more than 65,000 children. For more details on HRF's work, please refer to www.hrfindia.org.
2010 promises to be a very exciting year for HRF. HRF is rapidly expanding into more schools and community centres into Karnataka and Tamilnadu. HRF is also working on a project to micro-franchise village libraries. HRF is in the midst of a large scale expansion into North India with expansion into 300 more schools and 2 states on the anvil. HRF is working on a project to revive public libraries in Bangalore city and has started a 5 library pilot in Karnataka.

JOB PROFILE
We are looking for project coordinators to manage these projects. Each project coordinator will be expected to handle more than 100 libraries reaching out to an average of 10-15,000 children. The responsibilities include:

1. Managing relationships with partners
2. Training and capacity building of librarians and reviewers
3. Monitoring progress of the project
4. Developing and implementing plans to involve the community
5. impact measurement and analysis
6. Documentation for projects

This is a very high responsibility job in a very high growth environment. We are looking for people with a good academic track record, high initiative, willingness to travel, and good knowledge of one Indian language.
Candidates with a MSW or similar qualifications, with 1-2 years experience are ideal for the job.
