Here is an opportunity for you to be a part of a Job Fair which is being organized by Livelihood Resource Centre for the differently abled youth!! Imagine how excited the youth would be and this is a wonderful platform for you to volunteer and support such an initiative!! What is LRC?Livelihood Resource Centre (LRC) is a project of Cheshire Homes India, Bangalore supported by the Leonard Cheshire Disability, UK. LRC aims at supporting disabled people to access a range of suitably adapted training packages that will promote greater choice and participation in mainstream employment and self employment activities. Activities of LRC include Career guidance and Counseling, Training, Placement, Self employment support, Networking, Research and documentation, providing information etc. Income generating activities for people with disabilities are a key feature of Cheshire Services. Through initiatives in career counseling, vocational training, business development support, placement services and loans towards self employment Cheshire Services strives to enable people with disabilities and their families to find work opportunities and lead a life of dignity.About the Job Fair:LRC is organizing this job fair on Saturday Oct 10th in JSS, CA Site No.1, Hal 3rd Stage, Kodihalli, Bangalore - 17. The youth have been identified and put through rigorous training the last couple of months and they are ready to be observed into various jobs as per their skills. The category identified this time is largely manual, semi skilled and unskilled with a few who are purely skilled. Over 15 companies including ITC Gardenia, Gokal Das Images, Fortune Hotels, Vindhya Infomedia, Big Bazar etc are expected to participate and recruit people. Your role as a volunteer: This will be a day long event and many volunteers are required to volunteer for documentation of the event. Volunteers with workable communication skills in English and Kannada would be required. Those without the knowledge of Kannada can also volunteer!! The volunteers would be requested to submit a basic documentation report at the end. Please confirm soon as it is an immediate requirement!!
