A pilot NGO initiative in India for propagation of renewable energy use

A unique NGO based out of Kerala, India, Mitradham focuses on creating a concrete model for sustainable development by providing an institutional structure for demonstration, education and training in environment and renewable energy through their five main objectives:


  • exemplary demonstration of integration of theory and practice in environment friendly technologies
  • development of job-oriented courses and programmes in environment and renewable energy
  • promotion of small scale industries for installation, investigation and innovation of environment friendly technologies
  • carrying out and testing of long term developmental strategies through efficient co-operation of research institutes, industries and institutions
  • development of an international network for mutual support for the project implementation and publication of results for the benefit of all.


Its an organisation supported by the collaboration of VeV, a charitable association that started in 1995 and Renewable Energy Centre in Mithradham . An inspiration for all of us, like many such organiztion in India and everywhere in the world working towards a green world and clean fuel usage.

I have met with Mithradham people. They are very nice and focused towards their vision towards renewable energy. They also impart training to rural people on generating energy from waste at modest price. They even finance some projects based on renewable source of energy. I wish, they had pan India operation. A noble cause needs noble hands.
