Scope:
Promotion of academic and non-academic skills among 450 dalit children through 30 special education centres at taluks of Sathyamangalam,Gobichettipalayam and Bhavani in Erode district, Tamilnadu
Need for the Project:
Dalit included Schedule caste and schedule trible people did not get social empowerment. At present the “empowerment in education” gives equality and balance in the society. also, the people are realizing the knowledge power through education. The parents are have more interest to give sufficient skilled-education to their children. But, the dalit children are not having opportunity to set academic and non-academic skills through educational instructions/systems. Our dalit children are seeking academic admission in government schools only. but the schools are not having infrastructure, teaching capacity and other facilities to learn by the children. So their academic performance are very poor. After the primary education, each student has to get high scorer for passing to next standards the special education centers can tribal the study performance. More over, the center will be located nearby the dalit students. In addition buy the center activities will enhance the inherent Skills of the children for the personality development
The following activities and programs are carried out to fulfil the project goal. Some important activities are:
selection of location / intervention area with community partichipation;
Identification and selection of the skill educators based on their qualification and skills;
Basic orientation and skill development training to the skill educators through experts/relevant teachers
Identification of the students with support of schools which located in the intervention area;
Selection of the students with support of school teachers/ individual performances;
Establishment of special education centers with community partichipation;
The centre’s activities are focused the academic skill development ( concept, reading, writing, skill for analysis etc); Non-academic skills (interaction, hand works, leadership, personality development); group formation;
Monitoring and Evaluation of all the centers activities scientifically and evidence based;
Reporting and documentation for all the program-e.g. sending regular report to the Donor.
