Ride a Cycle Foundation - RAC-F
The RideACycle Foundation (RAC-F) is a not-for-profit advocacy organization promoting sustainable transport, responsible travel, and environmentally and socially responsible bicycling opportunities.
Uh, oh! What exactly does that mean?
In simpler words, it wishes to:
- Create awareness in society about the virtues of using cycles.
- Make cycles a popular mode of transportation that would help in addressing global warming and pollution.
- Organize cycle rides to promote cycling tourism, without any commercial objectives.
- Make people understand the need of an uncontaminated environment, which would indeed help in maintaining quality of health, by making people realize the intrinsic worth of cycling.
- Encourage Cycle-activists, Cycle Manufacturers, Cycling communities, and Government Organizations.
- Distribute free cycles and notebooks for poor and deserving students.
RideACycle Foundation was registered as a trust on 18 November 2008.

I am glad to be part of this initiative. Some really wonderful team they have behind this! :) One of the projects would be to recycle cycles - as in find some old cycles and pass them to some needy students - much like The Bicycle Project -

Hi Mayank,
As you said, one of the projects would be to pass on old cycles to needy students, can this be linked with the 'school on wheel' project? Just trying to connect the two...not sure if I'm thinking right...

The work on this project is going to start soon. I shall keep in mind.
Thanks again,
Mayank
Please add among the objectives, promotion of exclusive bycycle ways or paths ;these will enable school and college going youth to go on cycles to their institutions;today they are not allowed to use the cycle rightly by their parents because of the lack of safety.if ten crore students take to cycle, the amount of carbon emissions saved will be stupendous and under CDM we can get funds to purchase more cycles.
