Samsung India launched a low-cost solar-powered phone in India. The phone launched under the 'Guru' series is priced at Rs 2799 and comes with a solar panel on the back which can be used to charge the battery when the sun is shining.

"The hybrid solar recharge phone delivers around 5-10 minutes of talk time with one-hour of solar charging when the handset is turned off and sunlight has adequate intensity. The battery will attain full power with about 40 hours of solar charging. "

I hope other gadget manufacturers follow this  'green' trend.
