TIDE has been announced as a finalist in the Women | Tools | Technology Challenge sponsored by Ashoka’s Changemakers and ExxonMobil in partnership with The International Center for the Research on Women (ICRW).

TIDE (www.tide-india.org) is an organization devoted to promoting sustainable development through technological interventions. We share a concept of development that meets the needs of the neediest, is in harmony with the environment, permits grassroot participation, uses local resources and builds local capacity.
TIDE has been announced as a finalist in the Women | Tools | Technology Challenge sponsored by Ashoka’s Changemakers and ExxonMobil in partnership with The International Center for the Research on Women (ICRW).
The Challenge sourced 268 entries, each using transformative technologies to catalyze the economic advancement of women. An expert panel of judges selected TIDE's entry,- "Fuel efficient wood stove dissemination: an approach to empowering women", based on TIDE's work on the dissemination of smokeless household stoves and the strategy to empower women as "agents of change",- has been selected as - as one of ten finalists based on three criteria: innovation, social impact and sustainability.
Between June 2 and June 16, anyone can vote for their three favorite finalists. Visit www.Changemakers.com/TechnologyWomen to view TIDE's entry and vote. The winners will be announced on June 23.

- Go to the Women | Tools | Technology Challenge;
- Scroll down and you will see a list of entries with Red Vote buttons – you can read short descriptions about the projects by clicking “Preview” next to the titles;
