Urban
(Re)Imagination is a celebration of alternative ways of seeing and
being; a framing of cities in general, and our Mumbai in particular, as a
space for re-mixing, for creative solutions and unlimited
possibilities. It is brought to you by the Godrej India Culture Lab, a
new think tank that aims to understand the textured nature of Indian
modernity.

The day-long event (Saturday, January 15) at Vikhroli will have three sessions:

1.
(Re)Imagining History, with Gyan Prakash (Princeton University, author
of Mumbai Fables), Namita Devidayal (author of The Music Room), Naresh
Fernandes (Group Editor, Time Out and co-editor of Bombay Meri Jaan) and
Kabi (producer of the Meter Down podcast series)

2.
(Re)Imagining Geography, with Rahul Srivastava and Matias Echanove
(Urbz), Rohan Shivkumar (KRVIA), Tannishtha Chatterjee (actress, Bombay
Summer, Brick Lane) and singer Joi Barua

3. (Re)Imagining
Community, with Rajni Bakshi (author of Bazaars, Conversations and
Freedom), Neera Nundy (Dasra), Shaheen Mistri (Teach For India), Nishant
Shah (Center for Internet and Society) and singer Alisha Bathh

Concluding
remarks will be by Homi Bhabha (Head of the Humanities Center at
Harvard University, and author of Nation and Narration and Location of
Culture).
