Virtual patients help drug-testing efficiency, replace animals

Entelos, is a San Francisco based company that uses computer models to predict the effect of drugs and reduce the need for animal testing. There is a similar non-profit organization based in Switzerland. Many pharmaceutical companies are beginning to use mathematical models to reduce drug development time and expense.
