Subject: 99999 - Be a part of record breaking event - Mumbai
Hey All,One of my friends from Jagriti Yatra 2008, Parag Awasthi, President ofMumbai Exnora, an NGO that is fighting against the climate change, has organized a massive awareness campaign for Global Warming. “99999” is aninitiative to turn off your lights for 9 minutes at 9 PM on 09/09/09(9thSep, 09). Along with this campaign, to create more awareness, we have created 100 teams of 20 collegians each that will perform a skitrepresenting the effects of climate change at 100 different locations acrossMumbai. This Event is certainly the first of its kind and will also be recorded in Limca Book of Records. To make it a success, we are looking for 100 coordinators whoseresponsibilities would be as follows…1) Coordinate with the team of 20 volunteers/skit performers and keep them ready for the performance at 9 PM on 09/09/09.2) Managing any other logistics like Travel/Food/ Skit requirements tobe arranged as per the need.P.S. - You will be assigned the location of your choice (nearest to your workplace/residence ). It’s a Wednesday, a working day, but the event is at 9PM and most of the coordinating work during the day can be done right fromyour desk itself.*Please forward this to all your friends who you think can spare few hours of their busy schedule to create awareness on Global Warming.*- Chintan Siriya, Volunteers’ Coordinator, Mumbai “99999” Campaign.-- Thanks & warm regards,Chintan Siriya(Consultant)Technology Services (Oracle Service Line) M 9930024462 O 66025000 X 2254309Capgemini Consulting India Pvt Ltd

Subject: Join Climate Change-Play with Abhsihek Bharadwaj at Alternative Realities
Hi Chandni,
I got your reference from Youth Venture-Ashoka. I am a part of an organisation called 'Alternative Realities' (AR). AR is working on the issue of Urban poverty and Youth development in mumbai. We are doing a program on Climate Change in partnership with Center for Education & Documentaionn (CED), YUVA, Oxfam, 350.org, ICOR, VAK, and XISR. The event detail is as follows. It would be great if you can circulate it among your friends and colleagues. I am working on the concept of street play and would love to have more volunteers. Please mail me/call me (09920402813), should you like to know more about AR or my work. Thanks a lot.
A number of NGOs in Mumbai have got together and have planned a Public
hearing on Climate Change. We plan to have this event at the Xavier's
Quadrangle on the 24th of October 2009.
Besides having testimonies from marginalised communities on how Climate
Change affects them, the entire day will be spend on various interesting
events including a Warli painting workshop (hopefully in the woods),
exhibitions etc. We are also planning a Street Play Workshop at the
site, on Climate Change.
This is the real reality show. So if 'you think you can' act, we want
you to volunteer to be part of the core actor team in the street play.
It will means that you join us for some of the preparatory sessions, and
take part in the workshop, and of course perform.. on the last day!
Our findings of this one day event will be taken to the National
Conference in which most NGO participants going to the Copenhagen
meeting will be present.
Please contact Abhishek Bharadwaj of Alternative Realities to know more about the event and the street play details. He is available on bharadwajtiss@gmail.com or 09920402813.
We also need volunteers to do other things at the event. So again if you
think you can, do contact Jacintha@doccentre.net at CED now.
Warm wishes,
