. . . have been cycling in Bangalore since 2003 and to work almost all the 5 years of my career now. This is despite the history of allergic rhinitis (Hay Fever) in the streets of Bangalore rife with dust, smoke and _killer_ traffic. . .

my experience on the campus at San Diego was consistent: bike faster than car faster than campus shuttle. With a bike, one could zoom through special bike lanes and take shortcuts between buildings and across parking lots :)
