World Health Day Celebrated (Shikha Kalita, Project officer)

Kamrup, 7th April 2011: 7th April was celebrated World Health Day at the premises of Latasil Lower Primary School, in Kamrup (Metro) district of Assam in the presence of the Students, Principal guest from NRHM and SSA. It aimed at increasing awareness and understanding about the importance Antimicrobial resistance and its global spread

 

World health was successfully celebrated all over the world.

 

In the morning around 300 students attended the World Health Day celebration in their school premises. The programme was started with a Welcome speech by Mr. Sanjiv Bora (State Coordinator), SHARP NGO. The guest were welcomed by Rajib Sarma(District Coordinator,SHARP Ngo).The guest who were present for the function included Mrs.Shikha Borthakur(BCC expert),NRHM Assam, Mrs. Phulpahi Nath(DPO),SSA Assam, Mr.Jatin Sarma(Principal),Latasil LPS, Dr. J.N. Bhattarchaya(Speaker), & Upendra Mohan Saikia(CRCC),SSA.

Mrs. Shikha Borthakur said, “Celebrating such awareness programme is essential for every section of the society as it helps to expand the concept of health and hygiene in the society”.

 

Mrs. Phulpahi Nath appreciated the initiative taken by SHARP NGO Assam and have emphasized on celebrating such programmes in future ahead for the benefit of the society at large.

 

Mr. Upendra Mohan Saikia shared a few words on health & hygiene and had appreciated that such programmes should be celebrated when and wherever possible.

 

Mr. Jatin Sharma, principal of Latasil LPS gave his gratitude and heartiest wishes to SHARP NGO,Assam for selecting his school and organizing the WORLD HEALTH DAY’2011.

 

Apart from the world health theme health messages were delivered to students by the Sharp Ngo staffs. Ms Bably Hazarika, NGO coordinator, SHARP demonstrated hand washing tips to the audience in a very simple and impressive manner.
